WEED

We have probably all come across those stubborn weeds growing in our gardens, backyards, or where we tend to our plants and trees, and we are always very keen to uproot them. But no matter how many times you yank them out, they just keep popping back up again and again. And it might take ages to realise that some of those you eradicated were actually rather good herbs.

In life, sometimes all our efforts, our love, care, hard work, and dedication, or similar things we put in, might get treated like a pesky weed. And it could well take ages for others to realise how truly precious those contributions actually were.

Just like many a holy word from various scriptures, there's a sloka in Chapter 2 of the Bhagavad Gita that begins with “Karmanye vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana”. It basically says that you have the right to put in the effort, but you are not entitled to the outcome. So, always keep springing back like that weed, no matter how many times it is uprooted. Never let that be the end of it. If you act honourably, eventually you will be rewarded. But mind you, you are not exempt from performing KARMA.
